URGENT CALL TO ACTION:
The USFS is at it again and plan to close a large area of roads to off-roaders, public land users, hikers, bikers, hunters, fishermen and campers in Southern California. This will happen unless we all write or send an email in opposition to yet another power land grab.
We received this from our friend Brad Jones at the GPAA yesterday and need your help.

“unauthorized route decommissioning project”
Please people, don’t just read this post, send in your comments and please SHARE this with everyone. Even if it is just a simple email saying “I oppose the Cleveland NF decommissioning project”. If you’d like to send something more in depth, we have included what we wrote to them this morning for you to use as a template.
If we do not stand up and send thousands of emails in opposition to this, they will just jam this down the people’s throats and close even more of your lands to those who own the lands…….the very people who pay their salaries.
This is a prime example of why we need the emergency communication network we are rolling out at the miner’s meeting this Saturday. Had Brad not found this, we might have never known about it. Thank you Brad.
Dear USFS Supervisor William Metz,
On behalf of thousands and thousands of small miners and public land users who are AMRA members, followers, supporters and partners in the State of California we are writing in strong opposition to yet another attempt by the USFS to take even more of the PUBLIC land from those who own them, the PUBLIC. The PUBLIC pays USFS salaries, wages, benefits and retirements yet the USFS seems to endlessly try and lock and block the public from their own lands.
The newly proposed closures in the Cleveland NF is reprehensible. Since the institution of the Travel Management Plan, hundreds of thousands of acres of OUR lands and thousands and thousand of miles of PUBLIC ROADS have already been closed under the USFS schemes to lock and block the PUBLIC LAND OWNERS.
“Returning the landscape to its desired condition” is one of the schemes listed under your proposal.
We simply state that the lands should “be returned to those who own it, THE PUBLIC”. We say NO to this proposal.
Sincerely,
Mr. Shannon Poe
